About
I’m Brithny Zhang (she/her), a psychotherapist based in New York City. I work with adults navigating a wide range of mental health concerns—including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, perfectionism, ADHD, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients are working professionals who feel held back from patterns they’re ready to change. Whether you're in a creative field, a corporate role, or somewhere in between, therapy with me offers space to reflect deeply, gain clarity, and move toward a more connected and authentic version of yourself.People often describe me as warm, thoughtful, and kind. My approach is collaborative, insight-oriented, and intuition-driven—rooted in psychodynamic principles and supported by practical tools. I believe that understanding your present self means exploring the experiences that shaped you: early relationships, family dynamics, cultural background, and the patterns, cycles, or themes that may still be repeating. Together, we’ll identify and shift early adaptations that have become obstacles, while holding space for nuance and complexity. As an Asian American woman with LGBTQ and BIPOC identities, I bring lived experience to the therapeutic process. I grew up internationally and spent years working in the media and music industries—spaces where identity, pressure, and visibility often intersect. These experiences inform my commitment to creating a space that’s inclusive, culturally attuned, and grounded in social justice. I strive to honor the uniqueness of each client’s story and offer guidance that is both supportive and gently challenging.Therapy can be many things: a place for clarity, a space for healing, and a relationship built on trust. My goal is to support your growth with compassion, empathy, and care—and to help you move toward the life you want to live.*
